‍8. How do I care for flooring in Southern Utah's desert climate? Red dirt is abrasive — it wears finishes faster than ordinary dust. Use walk-off mats at every  exterior door, take shoes off inside, and vacuum or sweep regularly. Keep indoor humidity  above 30% in winter to protect hardwood from splitting.
